胶管生产的基本工序为混炼胶加工、帘布及帆布加工、胶管成型、硫化等。不同结构及不同骨架的胶管，其骨架层的加工方法及胶管成型设备各异。
The basic process of rubber hose production is mixing rubber processing, cord and canvas processing, rubber tube forming, vulcanization and so on. Different structure and different skeleton of the hose, its skeleton layer processing methods and hose molding equipment are different.
全胶胶管因不含骨架层，只需使用压出机压出胶管即可；夹布胶管需要使用将胶布包在内胶层上的成型机；抽吸胶管在成型时需先缠金属螺旋线后包内胶；编织及缠绕胶管需要使用专用的织物编织机或缠绕机；针织胶管需要使用针织机等。

胶管成型方法主要以是否采用管芯，分为无芯法、和有芯法（又包括软芯法和硬芯法）。
